IBM RAID Supplemental Diskette Version 2.0 Installation Readme This README.TXT contains information on how to use the RAIDSEND.exe utility located on this diskette RAIDSEND is a utility that provides a command-line interface for performing various tasks on a IBM F/W Streaming RAID Adapter/A, the IBM SCSI-2 F/W PCI-Bus RAID Adapter, and the Mylex PL adapter for the IBM PC Server 704. These tasks include viewing the current configuration, rebuilding a dead drive, initializing and/or synchronizing logical drives, plus many more. To install RAIDSEND on IBM OS/2: 1. Insert the diskette into the primary floppy drive. 2. Make a directory on your hard drive. Type 'MD \RAIDADM' 3. Copy the files from the floppy drive onto your hard drive. Type 'COPY A:\RAIDSEND.EXE \RAIDADM' 4. Change into the directory you created. Type 'CD \RAIDADM' 5. Run the utility. Type 'RAIDSEND' 2.0 RAIDSEND Usage Instructions __________________________________________________________________________ The RAIDSEND utility runs from an OS/2 command line. Simply type 'RAIDSEND' and press 'Enter' while in the proper directory to run the utility. When you run the utility with no command-line parameters, a list of available functions and their specific parameters are provided. All functions require a minimum set of parameters to execute the command. If you run the utility with a specific function, but without its required parameters, specific help for that function is displayed. Following is a list of the available functions and the appropriate parameters: GETSTATUS This command displays the status of the current or most recent rebuild, synchronize, or logical drive migration. Information includes logical drive in progress (or most recently completed), remaining size, and percentage completed. RAIDSEND GETSTATUS Adapter # --> Number of adapter (1 to 8) SYNCH This command synchronizes the parity on redundant logical drives. If the parity information is inconsistent, it will automatically be repaired.
