IBM Realtime Co-Processor Microcode V2.04 Install Diskette/File Creation Procedure 1. Product Specifications Overview -------- The Realtime Co-Processsor Microcode is the on-board multitasking operating system (ICARCM.COM) for the Portmaster Adapter/A and the Multiport Model 2 Adapter. The Realtime Control Microcode supports user-written application tasks executing on the co-processor adapter while supporting the interface between application programs on the system unit and application tasks on the co-processor adapter. The Realtime Control Microcode supports up to 248 concurrent tasks (1-248) with the execution of these tasks being controlled by the Realtime Control Microcode according to each task's assigned priority. Download RCM204X.EXE to a DOS or OS/2 System NOTE: X = o for OS/2 Version or X = d for DOS Version. Create a temporary directory that should hold the download image and the unpacking of the image. Download RCM204O.EXE to an OS/2 Operating System. Download RCM204D.EXE to a DOS Operating System. From the temporary directory holding the downloaded image, execute the self extracting file that was downloaded. B. How to download the publications to the target system. Publications can be obtaind at http://wwprodsoln.bocaraton.ibm.com/artic/ on the WWW. Follow the instructions on how to use the on-line ARTIC publications. 3. AIX Download/Install Instructions A. Download rcm204a.trz to an AIX System as rcm204a.tar.Z in a temporary directory. B. Uncompress and untar the package file Execute the following AIX Command from the temporary directory in which rcm204a.tar.Z resides: zcat rcm204a.tar.Z | tar -xvf - This will extract the file ./icarcm.com. C. In AIX Version 3, copy ./icarcm.com to /etc/microcode In AIX Version 4, copy ./icarcm.com to /usr/lib/microcode 4.
